Dr. Pamela J. Nave serves as Purdue Bands’ percussion instructor and is Associate Director of Bands. Dr. Nave's duties at Purdue University Bands are Director of all Percussion Studies, assistant director of marching band, drumline instructor, Gold and Black Sound director, Collegiate Band, Tau Beta Sigma Sponsor, Operations Advisor, and private percussion instructor. She has very strict morals and all percussionists abide by them. She believes very strongly in giving back and emphasizes it whenever the drumline receives a donation of any kind. Currently, the drumline marches 11 snares, 5 tenor drums, 7 bass drums, and 11 cymbals. Dr. Nave is very fair in how she runs the drumline because nobody is ever guaranteed a spot on the line, besides section leaders, come auditions. This year, there were a couple cases where veteran members did not make it back on the line because they were out shined by freshman or they weren't working as hard as they have in previous years. Dr. Nave is in charge of everything involved with percussion, including the AAMB drumline, percussionists in concert bands, and percussion ensemble. Also, she is in charge of the famed Big Bass Drum.
